Terms of Use

How you may use the site and the OLLA app, and the rights OLLA reserves.

Effective Date: September 23, 2026

These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) explain how you may use the content of this site and of the OLLA app, and the rights OLLA holds in that content.

1. Scope

These Terms apply to the website ollabrewlab.com (the “Site”), including the Web Roast Designer and its demonstration data, and to the content of the OLLA Brew Lab app for iPhone and iPad (the “OLLA app”). The Site and the OLLA app are provided by the developer of OLLA Brew Lab (“OLLA”).

Your use of the OLLA app itself is licensed under Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. These Terms supplement that agreement on intellectual property; they do not replace it.

How personal data is handled is set out in the Privacy Policy; product details and contact information are on the Support page. By visiting the Site or using the OLLA app, you agree to these Terms.

2. Ownership

The following are OLLA’s works, and the rights in them belong to OLLA:

  • the Site’s text, images, interface design and code;
  • the Web Roast Designer, including the four OLLA demonstration curves and the precomputed tables published with the Site;
  • the content of the OLLA app: the Coffee Codex (2,000+ entries), the Field Guide’s text and its selection and arrangement, the demonstration curves, and the interface design and code;
  • OLLA Roast Core: the roast-projection and curve-import toolkit developed by OLLA, which generated the Web Roast Designer’s demonstration curves and precomputed tables.

OLLA, OLLA Brew Lab and Roast to Cup are OLLA’s names and brands.

Third-party names, marks and content belong to their respective owners; the rights in the cupping prototype sheet design are as stated in the Legal Notice of the Privacy Policy. These Terms transfer or license none of the rights above to you; except for the uses Section 6 expressly permits, OLLA reserves all rights.

3. Prohibited Uses

Except for the uses Section 6 expressly permits, or with OLLA’s prior written permission, you may not:

  • scrape or bulk-download the Site’s content or the demonstration data with crawlers, scripts or any other automated means;
  • reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the Site, the Web Roast Designer or the OLLA app;
  • extract, unpack or decompile the OLLA app or its bundled data (the Coffee Codex, the Field Guide’s text, the demonstration curves), or scrape or redistribute that content;
  • copy, adapt or redistribute the interface, the demonstration curves or the precomputed tables of the Site or the OLLA app;
  • use any of the above to build, train or improve products, services or models that compete with OLLA, including machine-learning and artificial-intelligence models;
  • remove, obscure or alter any copyright, attribution or other rights notice on the Site or in the OLLA app;
  • frame the Site’s pages, or present them inside another website or app by similar means;
  • use the names OLLA, OLLA Brew Lab or Roast to Cup in a way that suggests an affiliation, partnership, sponsorship or endorsement by OLLA.

4. Protection in China and Elsewhere

OLLA’s works on the Site and in the OLLA app are protected in the People’s Republic of China under the Copyright Law of the People’s Republic of China (《中华人民共和国著作权法》). Under that Law and its Implementing Regulations, copyright arises automatically when a work is completed, without registration. The computer software among them — the code of the Site and of the OLLA app, and OLLA Roast Core — is also protected under the Regulations on the Protection of Computer Software (《计算机软件保护条例》), under which software copyright arises when the software’s development is completed.

Scraping, obtaining or using the data and content of the Site or the OLLA app without authorization may also constitute unfair competition prohibited by the Anti-Unfair Competition Law of the People’s Republic of China (《中华人民共和国反不正当竞争法》).

OLLA reserves the right to pursue infringement in China and anywhere else, including by complaints to platforms and app stores, by takedown notices, by complaints to the competent administrative authorities, and by civil action seeking cessation of the infringement and damages.

In Japan, these works are protected under the Copyright Act of Japan (Act No. 48 of 1970); internationally, under the Berne Convention for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works.

5. Demonstration Data

The four demonstration curves in the Web Roast Designer were generated by the OLLA roast model; they are not records of real roasts. The precomputed tables were likewise computed by that model when the Site was built. They exist only to show how the designer works and are provided “as is”: OLLA does not warrant that they suit any particular roaster, green coffee or roast goal, and they should not be used as instructions for a real roast.

The same applies to the demo data in the OLLA app: if you have no roasts of your own, the first visit to the roasting tab fills your device with a demo ledger from an invented roastery — green lots, roasted lots, batches, curves, labels and an assessment session. It is an invented sample, not real records, and represents no real business; it is likewise provided “as is” and should not be used as a reference figure.

6. Permitted Use

Provided you follow these Terms, you may:

  • view the Site for personal purposes and try the Web Roast Designer in your browser;
  • use the OLLA app under Apple’s standard license agreement referred to above;
  • link to any public page of the Site, as long as the link does not suggest OLLA’s endorsement and does not frame the Site’s pages.

For any use beyond this (for example quoting the demonstration data, republishing content, or a commercial collaboration), please write first for written permission: support@ollabrewlab.com.

Nothing in these Terms limits rights that the applicable laws give you and that cannot be excluded by agreement.

7. Applicable Law

These Terms are interpreted and enforced under the applicable laws. If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect.

These Terms are published in Simplified Chinese, English and Japanese. If the language versions differ, the Simplified Chinese version prevails.

8. Effective Date and Changes

These Terms take effect on September 23, 2026. OLLA may update them from time to time; the updated version will be published on this page with a new effective date above, and applies from the date it is published.
